I am so happy that I have two incredible clients to spotlight this month!
The first is Ritie Muse. Ritie signed up for the “Weight is Over” Program back in June. She met with me 2 times per week for 45 minutes and would come to the gym on her own doing the “homework” I would give her. The one thing that Ritie really wasn’t focused on too much in the beginning was her nutrition. She didn’t do a great job with tracking her food the first time around. She felt great after the first month and decided to continue training, but she promised herself that this time she was going to put just as much focus on her diet as she did with her training (she was probably sick of listening to me telling her how she will never see the results she wanted to if she didn’t start tracking her food!). She brought in her journal just about every session. I would look at it, and give her some feedback. This went on for another few months. I remember one time she emailed me to ask what she should order for dinner at Abby Park! I know some of you may think that is crazy, but Ritie has lost a total of 17lbs and 16 inches in the past 6 months and it is that type of dedication to not only exercise, but to making healthy nutrition choices, that has made all the difference.
Ritie says “I have struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember. This is the first time that I have actually lost weight the right way and I know that I will keep it off because it never felt like I was “on a diet”. I used to go to the gym and do cardio for an hour and think that I was working hard. Now my workouts are 30 – 45 minutes and I’m getting better results than ever. Keri has taught me how to eat well and how to exercise correctly. Not only have I lost weight and gotten more fit, I’ve actually enjoyed myself during the process!”
Congratulations Ritie!
My second spotlight is Colleen Connelly. I met Colleen back in September. She hadn’t exercised in years and was looking to lose weight and get back into a routine. Colleen set a goal for herself to come in to the gym 5 days per week for 4 weeks. She made every single day, plus some! All this during the holidays! Colleen has lost a total of 10 pounds and 9 inches. She can do 5 more pushups than she could when she started, 30 more step-ups, hold plank longer and lift heavier on every single exercise. The gains in her strength and endurance over the 3 months we’ve worked together has just been incredible. Colleen says “I knew I needed some guidance to get me back into a routine and I really don’t think I could have done it if I didn’t have a trainer. I needed those appointments and the accountability to get me to the gym. In the past I would make excuses. I have to do this or that. So knowing that someone was waiting for me and counting on me to do my part was really motivating”. Colleen is starting 2012 healthier and more fit than she has been in years!
Congratulations Colleen!!!
I am so proud of these two women. They set a goal for themselves (Yes, I had them write them down!) and they stuck to it. If you really want to do something you will find a way. If you don’t, you’ll find an excuse. Simple as that.
Looking forward to sharing more success stories in 2012! Way to go ladies!
