People ask me this question all the time: “what is the BEST way to lose weight and get leaner”? It seems as if everyone is doing something different. Cleanses, shakes, intermittent fasting, the list goes on and on. It is so confusing. How do you know what is right?
What I tell them is that what is “best” for one person, could be a complete disaster for another. The key is to find out what will work for you and your schedule, your habits, and your family.
Yesterday a friend said to me “I’m really trying to eat clean and follow your sample meal plan, but I gotta tell you, I tried your pancake thing this morning and it kind of tasted like dirt” hahaha! She sounds like my husband. Although he’ll try to be nice and say “it’s good, it’s just missing a little something”….when he really wants to tell me that what it’s actually missing is taste.
Clearly, having a protein pancake for breakfast for HER is NOT going to work. She hates it. How long will she be able to continue eating the pancake if she has to block her nose to choke it down everyday? Probably not very long.
My advice? DON’T EAT IT. Figure out another healthy option that will take the place of the dirt pancake. Use what works for you and get rid of what doesn’t.
Just because she hates the protein pancake and is choosing not to eat it, doesn’t mean she is doing anything wrong, or that the plan will not work. In fact, I would rather her eat something healthy that she knows she will enjoy, rather than following my plan to the letter.
The “best” thing that you can do is to create your own way of eating that you can sustain and that also gives you results. Remember that you do not have to be perfect. Fast fat loss usually results in fast weight regain. Who wants that?
Making healthy choices on a more consistent basis, over time will get you to your goals. You just have to be patient.
