A Parent’s Guide to Feeding Strong Athletes

We’re full-time working parents raising three busy athletes. Between practices, games, and school schedules, we know what it’s like to be constantly on the go and scrambling for dinner ideas, snacks to pack, or what to grab from the drive-thru.

That’s why we started creating simple cheat sheets for our own kids — to make fueling easier, faster, and less stressful. And now we’re sharing them with other families who are in the same boat.

About The Coaches

Keri Mantie

Keri has spent her entire career in the fitness industry. She interned as a collegiate strength coach at Boston University, Springfield College, the University of Tulsa, and the College of the Holy Cross, and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). After earning her Master’s degree in Strength and Conditioning from Springfield College, she worked at Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning before moving into personal training.

In 2024, Keri and her husband launched Mantie Strength Academy, where they combine their experience as coaches and parents of three athletes to help kids (and families) get stronger, fuel better, and build confidence through sports and training. She also runs Keri Mantie Coaching, focusing on strength and nutrition coaching for women.

Ed Mantie

Ed is a former Division I athlete who began his career as a strength coach at Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning before moving on to serve as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for UMass Lowell hockey. He later transitioned into teaching and coaching, spending the past 18 years as a physical education and wellness teacher, as well as a head football coach at Weston, Framingham, and Boston College High School.

Ed also coached at the collegiate level at Curry College before stepping away from football to focus on growing Mantie Strength Academy with Keri. This shift has allowed him to bring together his experience as an athlete, teacher, and coach — while also being on the sidelines to watch his three sons play the sports they love.
