Log Your Workouts!

journal

I just found my training log from 2001! Wow, time flies! Although my training has changed a bit due to my schedule and the fact that I do most of my workouts at home now, I still track them. There is no way I would remember what I did for weight, reps, or even exercises if I didn’t record it. I like to have a plan, a goal, for every workout. Whether it’s to use heavier weight during a circuit, finish more circuits in less time, or do 1 more chin-ups than I did previously, I track it. If strength training isn’t your thing, keep a record of what it is that YOU do. If you’re a runner, log your miles. If you’re a yogi, how many classes will you take this month? Whatever your goals are, Don’t let the only evidence of a successful workout be whether or not you lost that half a pound. Little achievements, like the types you only see when you track your workouts, offer far more motivation than a scale ever will!
